FIU Los Angeles Teaching Team
About our school:
FIU Los Angeles is a daughter school of Família Irmãos Unidos (FIU) headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, and is supervised by CM Arthur Fiu. FIU was founded in 1980 by Mestre Natal and CM Arthur Fiu now runs the international group with his two siblings, Mestre Sidney and Contra-Mestra Natalia, always with the oversight and support of their mother, Dona Andrea Teixeira.

Contra-Mestre Arthur Fiu
Contra-Mestre Arthur Fiu is from São Paulo, Brazil, and is one of the most well-known capoeira athletes in the world. He has traveled the globe competing, teaching, and sharing the Afro-Brazilian arts of capoeira, samba de roda, and coco de roda. He has won two world championships as well as several other national and regional competitions and has been a sponsored Red Bull Athlete since 2018. He believes in capoeira as a tool for social change and often cites the law of return: what you put into something will come back to you.
